Web Browsing Tips 101: URL Typing Shortcut Keys

Did you know that modern browsers (IE7+, Mozilla, Chrome, Opera, Safari for Windows) have a shortcut key to autocomplete a domain in the address bar? just type the domain name without the http://www. and the domain extension (e.g. .com) and press CTRL+Enter.

For example, to produce “http://www.yahoo.com”, type “yahoo” (without the quotation marks) and then press CTRL+Enter.

If you are using Mozilla, you can also autocomplete .net and .org domains. To complete a .net domain, use SHIFT+Enter. And, to complete a .org domain, use CTRL+SHIFT+Enter.
